Commitment Ceremony
Commitment Ceremony
A Commitment Ceremony is a celebration of the love you feel for each other and the bond you share. It is a public declaration of your love and decision to be life-long partners. No law can rule over what you feel when you love someone so much you want to tell the world they are your chosen partner, the one you want to love, cherish and support through this lifetime.
Through this sincere expression of love and exchange of vows, a Commitment Ceremony can be one of the most meaningful and powerful moments in your lives.
There are many reasons why loving, committed couples either choose not to or are unable to marry. Whatever your situation may be, do remember that a Commitment Ceremony is not a marriage and therefore does not have the same legal implications.
The process of creating a Commitment Ceremony is much like that of a wedding. You may want an intimate, informal ceremony with a few close friends in your own home or you may want a larger, more formal ceremony at a venue. Anything is possible.
Every couple is presented with a personalised Certificate as a memento of your ceremony and celebration.
I would be honoured to perform your ceremony.
A sincere expression of love and exchange of vows
How long does the ceremony usually last?
A basic ceremony usually takes up to 30 minutes depending on the readings and options that you choose to include.
Is there a Certificate?
Yes. A Certificate is provided to the couple as a memento of their special day.
Can you perform a ceremony for several couples at the same time?
Other couples can hold a ceremony created for them at the same venue on the same day, but not at the same time as yours.
Where are ceremonies held?
Your ceremony can be held at a venue of your choice – your home, a park, a reception centre.
Can we organise a ceremony at short notice?
In most instances yes, but please book me as soon as you have set the date.
How much does a Commitment Ceremony cost?
My fee to write and perform a personalised ceremony which usually lasts 30 minutes is $500.
Do Commitment Ceremonies have legal status?
No. They are simply something that you and your partner, choose to do as a public gesture of love and commitment. Unlike a Marriage Certificate, which is a compulsory legal document, the Certificate presented at the ceremony is not a legal document. Neither is the ceremony legally binding on those who take part in it.
How do I book a ceremony?
Simply contact me to confirm the date and complete a booking form that I will send to you.
