My Fee
No matter what type of ceremony you want – traditional, ‘outside of the box’, registry style, elaborate, casual, elegant, indoors, outdoors, in a garden, park or private residence, my home or your reception centre– I will provide you with a written quote outlining exactly what is and isn’t included in my fee.
I am always happy to discuss ceremony packages to suite your budget and wedding requirements. These will also be provided on request.
What does the fee for a traditional wedding ceremony include?
This is the most popular style of ceremony that I am asked to officiate for couples. It usually lasts about 30 minutes from the bride walking down the aisle looking gorgeous to me pronouncing the couple as Husband and Wife. It includes:
- The initial face-to-face meeting (approximately 30 minutes or longer if the booking is confirmed and the Notice of Intended Marriage is lodged)
- Ceremony Kit including samples to help you write your own personal vows; a Getting to Know You questionnaire; a relationship education brochure; a ceremony checklist; Application for Official Marriage Certificate form
- Unlimited phone and email support and contact for all those questions that will pop up during the course of your ceremony preparations
- Additional face-to-face meetings by appointment
- Research pertaining to your ceremony
- Supply, preparation and lodgement of the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
- Form printing/completion, postage and printing costs
- Scripting of the ceremony until you are happy and approve the final draft for me to read on your wedding day
- A ceremony rehearsal (if required) a few days prior to your wedding day – (some venues will not give you a rehearsal time so make sure you ask the function coordinator)
- PA System with provision for music to be played from iPod, iPhone, or any music device with an earphone jack
- The solemnisation of the marriage – I will be at your ceremony at least 30 minutes before the starting time to talk with the groom, check the music, greet your guests and meet the bride when she arrives, before we get started.
- Provision of a signing table, white cloth and two chairs (if required)
- Provision of a certificate signing pen (if required)
- Travel costs in connection with solemnisation (only if the distance of a return journey between the celebrant’s home and the place of marriage exceeds 60km)
- A presentation copy of your Marriage Ceremony script to keep as a memento of your wedding day (if required).
What doesn’t the fee include?
Other costs that may be charged to the couple are as follows:
- Application for the Official Marriage Certificate from Births Deaths Marriages (fee is currently $48 from BDM and I can help you to apply)
- Phone calls on behalf of the clients to venue, to participants, etc (if required)
- Visit by celebrant to venue (if required for checking before the wedding rehearsal)
- Travel costs in connection with solemnisation (only if the distance of a return journey between the celebrant’s home and the place of marriage exceeds 60 kilometres for return journey the cost will be 50c per additional kilometre)
- Travel and accommodation expenses out of the Perth CBD (if required)
- Extra rehearsals at the wedding venue depending upon distance and travelling time ($50)
- Other charges as agreed.
When do we have to pay our deposit?
I ask for a $200 deposit to confirm your booking, which will then hold your day and most importantly the time of your ceremony in my diary. The first meeting where we will discuss your ceremony, and you can decide if you want to book me as your celebrant, is free. Without a deposit, I’ll hold the day for you for two weeks.
What happens to our deposit if our wedding is cancelled?
If you cancel your ceremony booking, the deposit will not be refunded.
If you reschedule your ceremony booking, the deposit can be transferred.
A cancellation by me will incur a full refund of the deposit or other monies paid.
When do we have to pay the balance of the fee?
The outstanding balance should be paid two weeks before the date of your ceremony.
What happens to the balance of our payment if the wedding is cancelled?
Should your wedding be cancelled after your final balance is paid, please contact me to discuss a refund. However the deposit will not be refunded.
What happens if you are not able to perform our ceremony?
If for some unforeseen circumstance I am personally unable to officiate on your specified date, I will arrange for an Authorised Marriage Celebrant to replace me at no additional charge, and therefore no refund will be given.
Payment options include direct deposit, cheque or cash.
