Elopement Ceremonies

Traditional weddings are not for everyone and organising them can be overwhelming for some, so why not sneak away and elope? Elopement ceremonies are all about being relaxed, and enjoying a more private and intimate moment together as you celebrate your love.  All you need to do is choose the elopement ceremony package you want, the date and location, and I will take care of everything else, including bringing two witnesses if you need me too.

Frequently Asked Questions about Eloping

Do we need to be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident to get married in Australia?

  • No. Anyone can be married in Australia if they meet the legal requirements.

What do we need to do be legally married in Australia?

  • Any couple getting married in Australia must lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) either physically or electronically, and no later than one month before the date of your marriage. (The NOIM remains valid for 18-months from date of lodgement).

  • If you are Overseas, the NOIM must be witnessed by a Public Notary and then emailed to me. The original must be handed to me before your ceremony takes place here in Australia.

  • You both need to provide Identification documents which are your Australian or Overseas passport. If you have your Birth Certificate that's even better.

  • If you don't have a passport you can use your Birth Certificate and poto ID such as your driver's licence.

  • If you were previously married, you'll need to present the documents that show how that marriage ended (i.e. divorce or death certificate).

We're not sure where to get married? Can you give us suggestions?

  • Yes. After doing weddings for the last 10 years, I have seen so many fabulous locations and venues. From no cost spots along the Swan River to on top of Perth's waterfront hotels to in my Mount Lawley home, I'll suggest places that suit your elopement dream.

We really want to keep it a secret. Can you organise our witnesses?

  • Yes. There is a $50 payment for each witness, and it made in cash on the day of your elopement.

How many guests can we have?

  • Up to 15 adult guests.

How far will you travel?

  • I love travelling and will travel Australia wide for your elopement. Ask me to give you a quote for the destination you've chosen.

Are same sex marriages legal in Australia?

  • Yes, yes, yes! And I support all forms of love.

How do we get a certified Marriage Certificate?

  • After your marriage, I will submit all of your marriage documents to the Registry of Births Deaths Marriages here in Western Australia (BDM WA).

  • You can apply for a certified copy of your registered marriage through BDM WA. The fee paid to BDM is $55 (current fee 1.07.2024).
